Thinking of giving up alcohol for October? It’s a great chance to evaluate just how much you are drinking normally, lose a few unwanted pounds, and give your body a break before the Christmas madness starts. Using a month like this when it’s a nationwide initiative also gives you a great excuse to use when your friends try to sabotage you. As they will! Be prepared for the inevitable comments of “Oh go on, just one won’t hurt”, “You’re no fun when you don’t drink”, or “It’s my birthday, you’ve got to have a drink”. Make sure you have your answers ready so that you’re not tempted. And enjoy the feeling of waking up in the morning without a dry mouth and dull shadow of a headache!
